Grateful for the Stories: Writing for Pasadena Magazine
Some stories stay with you long after the journey ends. I鈥檓 grateful to continue sharing those experiences in print with , where travel still has the space to unfold thoughtfully on the page.
My print stories there have taken readers across the globe 鈥� from the icy landscapes of , where I flew by helicopter over the white wilderness with , to unforgettable wildlife encounters on a polar bear in Canada.
I also wrote about the thrill of being on the inaugural sailing of , which was the largest cruise ship in the world at the time of its debut 鈥� an extraordinary moment in cruise history.
Sometimes the most memorable stories come from small but surprising details. In I discovered that pesto 鈥� the city鈥檚 culinary treasure 鈥� which is so beloved that travelers are allowed a special exception to carry it through security at the airport, meaning yes, your pesto can actually fly home with you.
Another favorite assignment explored Ireland鈥檚 legendary castles for my television special . Filming across was magical, and the project went on to win a , a , and a 鈥� recognition that made the journey even more meaningful.
These kinds of epic experiences are why I love being a travel journalist. But behind every story is a team that believes in the work. I鈥檓 especially grateful to editor for championing thoughtful storytelling and giving these adventures a home in print.
And the journey continues. I鈥檓 excited for my newest story 鈥� exploring the beauty and surprises of Florida 鈥� to be published soon.

It鈥檚 not easy being an antizionist these days. Especially if you鈥檙e determined to live in accordance with your most important moral imperative: the denigration of the world鈥檚 only 91传媒 state.
Here was an artist with no personal stake in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, who understood the potential consequences of publicly taking a position, yet chose to publicly support Israel and what he believed was right.
This war over narrative won’t just be between Israel and Hamas. It will also be an internal war over the narrative as Israel鈥檚 election is getting closer.
The Torah offers a better model than avenging and avoiding. It offers a safe opportunity for parties to meet and peacefully explain their perspectives, which might have been misunderstood. They can offer apologies and, where necessary, make amends for harms caused.
The tradition has always been bigger than any one person’s grip on it. What draws me is simple: I think these texts are a good part of why we are still here as a people. I want to know them and, in my own way, embrace them. Orthodox is where I turn.
One question alone matters these days: Does this fact strengthen my tribe, or is it bad for it? If bad, it must be suppressed, denied, explained away. The higher truth is the narrative that serves the cause, the quest of the righteous and true.
Hardship and joy are present at every step. There is no time when it will be all good, so focus on the good and carry on. There are always moments to savor and appreciate.
