As we all know that electricity is in short supply in Pakistan and due to it we all have to face load shedding, breakdowns, fluctuations, blackouts, power outages etc. These are common feature in our country. We all know that whether it is summer or winter load shedding is there. We observe that sometimes it is scheduled while on other occasion it totally unscheduled. The latter is much more worst as it become causes untold problems and hardships to the electricity dependent community.it can be confidently said that the electric supply has never been reliable at any time.
There are many factors behind this problem like shortage in river waters, new connections, electric supply to villages, low generation in electricity, over population and power_ theft, line losses.
We all have to admit that it is result of inefficiency, mismanagement and defective planning in WAPDA. and our great tragic is that there are a lot of projects which are still incomplete like Kalabagh dam and we are rich in natural available resources but we are misuse all of it, as we don’t have atomic and solar energy ,s generation. We both agree that there is lack of consensus and apathy of our Govt to the contribution to load shedding
According to our research we have resources of coal and thar coal and we can generate 1200 megawatt electricity from that.
As we have to fulfill such shortage and we have to bear 30 million, s cost for that purpose and recently survey, s according Punjab Govt & German company AEG have signed MOU to set up energy projects of 50 -100 megawatt in 2013 and 300 in 2014.
Although for all that projects we all have to adopt some measurement so may be able to fulfill requirements of hour and save energy for our coming generation.
We know load shedding is a great curse.it brings untold misery to people belonging to all walks of life whether he is student or a patient, a businessman or a farmer, laborers or an industrialist. Housewives or a merchant it brings all economic, industrial and agriculture progress to a standstill.
Such fluctuation plays havoc with the electric equipment’s like VCR, TV computers etc. Bad luck is that foreign investors shun investing money in different sectors due to load shedding.in short we can say that it starts a long episode of helplessness and frustration .Our Pak country can never make progress in any field due to that problem. Our Govt must take necessary step to get rid from that problem. We suggest that first of all it should remove mismanagement from WAPDA. Inefficiency and corruption.
Secondly new mega dams should be constructed without further delay. Power should be generated from solar and nuclear energy
power theft should be stopped .people should also make wise and proper use. Public should use energy saving devices. Such step wil make us able so that help a great deal in ending load shedding from our Pak country.
